It was established by Order No. 1632 of People’s Commissariat of Defence of the USSR dated the 7th of July 1941 in Ufa, Bashkir ASSR and included 4 battalions containing 2000 people. Between July 1942 and August 1943, the School was holding 5 battalions (three rifle battalions, a mortar battalion and a machine-gun battalion); between August 1944 and the end of the war it was holding 2 rifle and 1 mortar battalions.
The School had a composite company that helped to launch the combat training curriculum straight away. The composite company had a tank platoon, a cavalry troop and a signal platoon.
The Head of the School was colonel N.S. Nikitchenko, the enlistment officer was regiment commissioner Nikolay Matveev.
Initially students were trained according to an accelerated curriculum. Mostly it took 4 months, for some it took 6. During the war the School switched to two-year training period, Suvorov Military College graduates were entering the School, students were trained by Military Academies graduates. School graduates received titles of junior lieutenants or lieutenants.
The curriculum involved much rifle, tactical and engineering equipment, shooting gallery and firing range practice. Training camps were located near Aleksandrovka, Mikhailovka and Podymalovo villages of Ufimskiy district and near Alkino village of Chishminskiy district of BASSR. In winter students regularly exercised in skiing across to Alkino and back. In summer they forced march in full or partial outfit.
First students graduated from the School in 1942. There were 1967 of them.
From March to August 1942 the School was holding a branch of the Vystrel course for training officers that were going to lead a troop or a battalion.
On the 15th of May the Headmaster, some mentors and most of students were sent to the front.
The institution made a great contribution in officer training for the acting army; therefore, a number of officers were awarded with orders and medal by the Order of the Praesidium of the Supreme Soviet dated the 22nd of February. In total, 12 peoples were awarded. The list of the awarded contained major-general Nazarov and colonel Matveev.
