The crucial point for Nazi defeat was the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation. Between the 16th of April and the 8th of March, the 1st and 2nd Belarus fronts and 1st Ukrainian front disrupted the opponent’s Berlin forces being led by Soviet marshals Georgiy Zhukov, Konstantin Rokossovskiy and Ivan Konev. In total the battle engaged over 2 million people, 41,6 guns and mortars, 6250 tanks and self-propelled artillery units, 7,5 thousand aircrafts.
The defence engaged over 1 million people, 10,4 guns and mortars, 1.5 thousand tanks and assault guns, 3,3 thousand aircrafts.
On the 30th of April the Victory Banner was installed over the Reichstag.
On the 8th of May the defeated Germany representatives signed the Instrument of Surrender.
The alliance disrupted 93 Wehrmacht divisions, captured 480 thousand soldiers and officers. After the 8th of May 1945 another 1 million 284 thousand defeated soldiers and officers gave in. Incomprehensibly massive and violent war against the Nazi finally ended.
