37. Rifle Division No. 219

Rifle Division No. 219 was formed between the 1st of January and the 30th of April 1942 near Krasnousolsk village. The division arrived at the front on the 3d of June 1942 and took defensive positions along the eastern bank of the Don river.

Between the 14th of January and the 1st of March 1943, the division fought through 600 kilometres and retook Alekseevka, Novyi Oskol and Kharkov, took part in the Battle of Kursk near Tolstoye and Novenkoe villages.

In 1944 the division participated in retaking Lithuania, late April 1945 they were stationed near Bucharest.
