The second biggest industrial city in the republic after Ufa was Sterlitamak. It took Sterlitamak Machinery Tractor Workshop 2 month to assemble Odessa Machine-Tool Plant named after Lenin. During the war it was producing drilling machines, but also more complicated radial drilling, diamond boring, deep drilling and other machines; in total it was manufacturing over 30 types of tools. They acquired production of shells and more than 40 types of tank parts for one of the Urals tank plants.
